The Hagen Quartet

The world famous Hagen Quartet gave two concerts in Buenos Aires, for the Mozarteum Argentino, on September 5th and 6th in the Coliseo Theater. The outstanding reviews reflected the wonderful concerts played in this opportunity.

In the first presentation the program included the Quartet in G Major by Franz Schubert and the Quartet nº8 by Dimitri Shostakovich. In the second presentation, the Quartet nº3 by Dimitri Shostakovich and the Quartet Op.51 “The Seven Last Words of Christ” by Franz Haydn were played

Thomas Hampson with Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester in Argentina

On August 30th and 31st Mozarteum Argentino presented in Buenos Aires the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester with the exceptional American baritone Thomas Hampson, conducted by Philippe Jordan.

For the first concert the program was entirely dedicated to Mahler: Lieder of the period of “Des Knaben Wunderhorn” (Der Tamboursg’sell, Nicht wiedersehen, Lied des Verfolgten im Turm, Der Schildwache Nachtlied, Zu Strassburg auf der Schanz’ and Revelge) and Symphony nº6 in A minor. The second presentation included the following program: “Death and Transfiguration” Op. 24 by Richard Strauss, Lieder of the period of “Des Knaben Wunderhorn” (Ich ging mit Lust durch einen grünen Wald, Blicke mir nicht in die Lieder, Erinnerung, Ich atmet’ einen linden Duft, Um Mitternacht and Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen) by Gustav Mahler and “The Rite of Spring” by Igor Stravinsky. Both concerts received standing ovations and excellent reviews.
